How To Force Bulbs

To force bulbs, you must ensure that they go through a dormancy stage, or “chill “time, to make them think that they went through a Winter!

Depending on the bulb type, this dormancy can go from 2–3 weeks, up to 16 weeks.

How to Properly put your Bulbs into dormancy:

1.  Fill a pot with some potting soil mix, add as many bulbs that will fit with a comfortable space between them for aeration.

2. Place them inside your fridge for an appropriate amount of time based on your bulbs. If the pot is too large, a paper bag with Pete Moss or Cocoa Coir will suffice.

Also, if a fridge is not an option, place in a cold storage location, that will suffice.

Do not keep your bulbs in too much moisture otherwise you will get bulb rot.

Bring your bulbs out of the cold location and slowly bring them up in temperature. It should take about a week before you can transplant them and put them in a brighter location.

They should start to produce shoots, and before you know it, spring will be just around the corner!
